Smoked Cod Fillets

Responsibly caught from the cold Atlantic waters off the coast of South Africa, this skin-on Hake (a member of the Cod family) has a flaky white flesh, mildly flavoured with natural smoke and colour, then snap frozen to lock in freshness and taste.

Hake (Merluccius capensus / paradoxus) (98%) (Fish), Salt, Natural Smoke Flavour, Colour (160b).

PREPARATION & COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

EASY COOK IN 15 MINUTES

  • Keep frozen at -18°C and once defrosted use within 2 days. Do not refreeze. 

  • Once thawed keep below 5°C and consume within 48 hours. Do not refreeze  

  • Product must be thoroughly cooked before consumption. 

  • Cooking times may vary, cooking times are a guide only.  

  • Thaw Cod fillets in the refrigerator overnight before cooking 

PAN POACH, 10-15 MINS

  • Pre-heat a saucepan and add Cod fillets, enough water to cover the fillets, ½ teaspoon of butter and ½ cup of milk.  

  • Heat the mixture until it boils, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until fillets flake easily with a fork. 

GRILL, 20 MINS

  • Preheat grill, place Cod fillets on a baking tray, brush the fillets with melted butter. 

  • Place baking tray in middle of the oven and grill for 6 minutes turning half way through cooking.
